Thread 001: Sex and Fat
I heard women are gaining weight on purpose to make themselves unattractive to men. Hm.
Follow the thread, the train... watch the stream, connect the dots. This is how my mind runs. Develops theses. Produces thought. These are not articles yet. But for now, follow along.
Prompt: Some women gain fat intentionally [through subconscious-thought-guided actions] to make themselves more unattractive to men because they are afraid of men.
I actually feel sexual when I’m a little bit softer, when there’s a little more curve—more to grab at. When I get smaller, I feel less sexual, more hot. I feel more Status Symbol™. With how people interact with me and how I’m perceived. It’s not that I feel more sexual, it’s that I feel people are associating me with a certain symbol and they often tell me. They’ll say it outright, what they think of me when they look at me. There might be attraction, but the attraction of skinniness is more clearly Status Symbol™; it’s like the attraction of wealth. It’s like walking into a room treated as royalty because people think you’re part of a certain world. With more roll and more fat it’s more sexual [sensual]. It’s more I want to grab at it. I wonder what it’s like in motion. I see movement. It’s catching my eye.
I hide my body more when I gain fat and it’s not because of “unattractive”. It’s because body in my life has always meant more sexual. I want to touch. Let me grab at it.
“There’s a reason skinny is more ‘high fashion’…”
They’re not putting sex on the runway. Not like that.
The sex of fat is more instinctual. It’s more perceptual impulse. It’s more involuntary, less cognizant, less cognitive.
Oddly satisfying videos, slime, fluffy bunny, ASMR, polished rock
That’s fat. Skinny is intellectual. Skinny™ is.
I think a body in comfort is always sexual [always has the ability to stimulate sexual arousal] because we make mind associations with pleasure. We do it fast. We’re too fast for our minds.
About as fast as we go dark skin, worked outside, less money, labourer, lower class, unhappy life, don’t associate, not what I want
That fast. Before we could speak it out loud.
This is easy. There’s a difference between the sex on the runway and the sex that’s fetishised when orientalists travel to the global majority. It’s not the same you know it isn’t. They made laws against it. On how you dress.
The girls who developed faster are not being kicked out of classrooms for being unattractive.
I tell you again, there were Certain Men who felt certain Ways about certain women, and the Wives of these Men made sure to hurt these women. It is not because the women were unattractive. They’re doing the same thing.
The point is:
“Women gain fat to be unattractive”
Uhhh…Fat might be doing something else. Be aware of that.
They’re triangulating. The system triangulates. Neither one of you is lesser than. It’s a mind game. They’re playing. They’re having fun.
They’re triangulating
Any time you have a situation where it’s multiple demographics and it’s “this one’s better than this one…” and it’s “this one’s better than this one…”— America is a trauma response and a dysfunctional household. They’re triangulating. Their job is not to make sense. It’s to talk.
They’re not putting sex on the runway. Not like that…
It’s vulgar
Losing weight If anything I feel more attractive to women, not to men.
It’s kind of like how based on the things that men look for in women, people will say they’re actually looking for men, or [say] the things that men think women want are actually what other men want, like, you’re working for the approval of other men, for the envy of other men — not the desire of women. It’s the same thing. I feel like a lot of things change my interactions with men like clothing, energy (literally, the amount of energy I have available for socialising and exuding that day), hair accessories, even; body weight hasn’t been one of them. When my weight changes, I notice the most drastic differences in social interactions with women or people in professional settings, so either women generally or people of any gender, but in professional settings. That’s when I notice differences with body or I perceive differences concerning body weight or I receive explicit out loud comments about body weight and figure and presumptions about my activity.
It’s giving very Bridgerton. The men aren’t the main characters; the interactions between the women are [The Marriage Mart].
The idea of the Men becomes a background character even. We are focused on what we do for Men and who is getting what from Men. The Men are non-existent at this point.
Trust, the Men will experience desire, it’s not that serious at all.
This is not a general social observation. We’re beginning with the initial prompt, the idea that some women who are afraid of men do things to neutralise their appearance and be unattractive to men, one of these things they do being gain weight. Of course it’s true women often do things to neutralise the possible arousal of desire; they’ve been trained to read people and do as much for a very long time. What I’m saying is if you exclusively count on a little more fat being the thing to do this, the thing to neutralise desire, I don’t know that it will do that. Desire can very well be aroused anyhow and often is.
They don’t need to say it to you. They might not say it out loud, this is about what they’re thinking and feeling. Not every white man who had only disparaging comments for a black woman in public actually felt that way behind closed doors. When alone, he felt something else. The sight of darker skin sometimes arouses a feeling other than the one he spoke.
Is the net value of this interaction positive? That’s a separate question and not the one I’m answering. What I’m saying is, what they felt is not what they spoke. Is the arousal of desire or the ability to arouse desire some ultimate goal? That’s for you to decide. I don’t know what you want.
It’s like my good friend Yohji Yamamoto said [laughs]… You don’t need to prove you’re sexy. You’re sexy by default. That’s the bare minimum. That’s ground zero. And now what. What do you want. You already have it. What do you want.
Human is your species. but your gender is your tribe. You are not trying to impress each other. You’re trying to impress yourselves.
